The Adams PTO is thrilled to announce the Tuesday, September 24th PLC Day activity will be The Adams PTO Intergalactic Spacewalk-a-thon!  

The goals of the Spacewalk are to encourage students to focus on wellness and teamwork and to have tons of fun, all while raising money to support all of the PTO’s activities and services. We know that communication is key for this event to be a success, so we want to give you the scoop, so that you can be in the loop!

How Will the Spacewalk-a-thon Work as a Fundraiser?

  • In our last PTO survey, families indicated that they wanted the PTO’s major fundraiser to be a student-focused activity-based event instead of doing a catalog-based fundraiser.  Although we were anxious about changing the fundraiser, the PTO decided to give it a try, and we are thrilled to say that we have had amazing success!
  • As the major fundraiser for the year, the ultimate goal is to raise $35,000.  With 825 students and 89 staff, money spends very quickly!
  • Since we run the fundraiser “in house” ALL of the funds raised stay at the PTO/school! We have selected some awesome prizes for the students to earn. As a special incentive, if we raise at least $30,000, the top student from each grade will get top spray “alien webbing” on Mrs. Clark at Fun Night!
  • Because we can’t do this without Adams students and their families, we are offering some out-of-this-world prizes! Selected by kids, for kids!
  • New this year: Each student who registers on our fundraising website and sends out 5+ emails will earn Glow Alien Head Boppers to wear at the walk!
  • We encourage each student to raise $50, walk 2-8 laps, and HAVE FUN!

Fundraising Kick-Off  Wednesday, August 28th:

  • The Intergalactic Spacewalk-a-thon fundraiser kick-off will be on Wednesday, August 28th.
  • During the day, students will be shown a dorky Spacewalk-a-thon information video.
  • Please click the link at the top of the page to view the video. Fundraising packets will be sent home that day in the Wednesday Folders.
  • If you need an additional copy of the packet or an extra donation collection form, you may pick one up in the office or click the link at the top of the page.

Tell me More about the Spacewalk-a-thon!

  • The walk will take place during the PLC school day on Tuesday, September 24th.
  • Students should dress appropriately for the weather. Students and staff are encouraged to wear NEON COLORS, Adams spirit gear, or school colors.
  • Each grade will take its turn walking around the walking path during its scheduled time.
  • Once students are finished walking, they will be given a small healthy snack of 1/2 banana and a bottle of water.
  • If weather permits the walk to be outside, parents are invited to attend to walk with and/or cheer on their students.
  • Parents are invited to dress up in galaxy, astronaut, or alien-themed outfits. Parents should arrive 5-10 minutes before their student’s walk time. Parents should come directly to the playground and check-in at the welcome table. Younger siblings may attend. Please, no pets.
  • In the event of rain, the walk will be held indoors and parents will not be able to attend due to space limitations.

  •    8:20-8:45  2nd grade
  •    8:50-9:15  3rd grade
  •     9:20-9:45  4th grade
  •  9:50-10:15  1st grade
  •      10:20-10:45  KG    
  • 10:50-11:15  5th grade
